Cat Island & Mississippi Coast Bird Photography Adventure

                                    May 6th-10th, 2024

Join us for a bucket list adventure! We will spend two nights and 3 days exploring the canals of Cat Island, located 7 miles off the Gulf Coast. Cat Island is one of the Mississippi-Alabama barrier islands.

We will visit local rookeries and birding locations. The stay will be in the only lodge on the Island powered by a generator. The event includes all meals on the Island as well as the boat transportation with captains and guides from Shore Thing Charters. We will get you to and from the hotel to the dock.

While on the Island we will explore the island by boat and foot(No heavy hiking) for wildlife. We will also leave the main island by boat to visit smaller islands and rookeries to photograph a wide variety of bird species. Guides will bring us to ideal locations in early morning light and afternoon light.

While having down time during midday there is plenty of photography opportunities. From Hummingbirds to song birds, there are so many to see right from the lodge. You might even find raccoons and gators in the area.

Our full time professional birding guide is Robert Smith, Coastal Program Coordinator for Wildlife Mississippi. He will guide us to many unique locations not known by many. Our Captains are all US Coast Guard Certified and, along with their crew, will take care of us on all sea activities.
